In the 28th match of the Women’s Super Smash 2025/26, Otago Sparks will take on Central Hinds in McLean Park, Napier. The Otago Sparks haven’t been at their best in this season as they have lost 5 of the 9 games that they have played so far. They are currently seated at the 5th position, and the players will need to step up to bring a change. Polly Inglis, the skipper will need to find some inspiration for her players, and she has been quite decent this tournament. In the upcoming fixture against Central Hinds, here are the top 3 players to look out for:

Eva Gray
Eva Gray, the all-rounder, has been in quite good form for the Sparks this season. She hasn’t played for the national side yet, but she is making a name for herself in the domestic circuit. In the last 6 matches, she has scored 80 runs while being dismissed only once so far. She has also picked up 6 wickets in her stint. She is a capable all-rounder who can prove to be crucial to the performance of Otago Sparks, if she could step up her performance and generate some momentum.
Emma Black
Emma Black has been a crucial player for Otago Women in their season with her consistent performances with the ball. She hasn’t represented her nation yet but has announced herself on the bigger stage. This season, she has scalped 12 wickets and in her most recent batting outing scored 19* runs. She has been one of their best bowlers in this season with her ability to pick wickets and bowl at an economical rate. Otago Sparks bowling unit is heavily reliant on Emma and she will need to produce some extraordinary performances.
Polly Inglis
Polly Inglis, the skipper of the side has been their player to lead from the front, especially in high pressure matches and league phase matches. She has scored 143 runs in 8 innings so far. Inglis will be hoping her side will be able to win at least a couple of matches in the forthcoming games. Inglis will have to be more consistent with the bat to generate some momentum to work with for Otago Sparks.
