Ahead of the 2026 season of The Hundred, Southern Brave has announced the signing of the Indian star batter, Jemimah Rodrigues. Southern Brave established their dominance in the 2025 season, with 8 wins from 8 matches in the group stage and they finished as runners-up in the tournament.
Jemimah has had a couple of successful seasons in the tournament with the Northern Superchargers. The Brave will be happy with the signing as Rodrigues adds quality to the batting unit with her technical ability to anchor the innings and find boundaries with her innovative unorthodox shots.
Rodrigues had been a consistent batter for Northern Supercharges with key match-winning knocks in pressure moments. In her Hundred career, she has scored 453 runs from 18 innings at a strike rate of 137.68. She had made a significant impact in her debut, 2021, season as she was the second highest run-scorer in the tournament with 249 runs and an average of above 41.50. Her most iconic knock came in that season where she scored a stellar 92* off 42 balls against Welsh Fire, which was the highest individual score that season.
In her T20I career, she has scored 2479 runs from 102 innings at a strike rate of 117.32. She clearly has proven her ability to contribute with the bat when the team needs, especially from the matches in the ICC ODI Women’s World Cup. She could be a great potential batter for Southern Brave, if she is able to perform well.
Rodrigues has also been a key performer in global franchise cricket leagues across the world like the Women’s Big Bash League, Women’s Premier League, etc. In the WBBL, she has scored 681 runs from 31 innings at a strike rate of 120. She has been an integral part of the Brisbane Heat in recent years.
In the WPL, she has scored 599 runs from 29 innings at a strike rate of 139. Delhi Capitals have retained her since season one, as she adds plenty of batting flexibility to the side. She has great technical ability to withstand skillful bowlers, and she can play with calm temperament. Her ability to perform in away conditions under pressure have been renowned globally in recent years.
