Wellington Blaze, led by skipper Amelia Kerr, were up against Auckland Hearts, led by skipper Maddy Green, in the 4th match of the Women’s Super Smash 2025-26. The Otago Sparks secured a bonus point victory against the Canterbury Magicians on 28th December 2025.

The Wellington skipper, Amelia Kerr, won the 2nd consecutive toss and yet again opted to bat first. Skipper Amelia Kerr, alongside Georgia Plimmer, got their side off to a solid start, and the pair switched gears as the innings progressed. The opening stand soared to 155 before Bree Illing finally provided some respite for her side by sending Georgia Plimmer back to the pavilion in the 18th over of the innings to provide the first breakthrough for the Auckland Hearts.
Georgia Plimmer registered a composed half-century (62 off 53 balls) before getting dismissed. The Blaze posted a massive total of 184/2 in their quota of 20 overs. An innings that also included 12 extras. Skipper Amelia Kerr led from the front, registering her maiden T20 century (106* off 61 balls), carrying her bat throughout the innings. Bree Illing (4-0-33-1) and Amie Hucker (4-0-33-1) were the only wicket-takers with the ball for Auckland Hearts.

Chasing a stiff total of 185, Auckland Hearts’ top order, Bella Armstrong (22 off 18 balls), Brooke Halliday (16 off 16 balls), and Prue Catton (13 off 16 balls) chipped in with decent contributions. However, none of them managed to take the innings deep and convert their starts into a decisive score. Skipper Maddy Green (39 off 26 balls) top-scored with the bat for Auckland Hearts.
Auckland were eventually bundled out for 135, with a ball to spare. Ayaan Lambat (12 off 16 balls) and Amie Hucker (10 off 10 balls) were the only other batters to enter the double digits with the bat for their side. The Hearts eventually fell 49 runs short of the target. Xara Jetly (3.5-0-21-3), Nicole Baird (3-0-18-2), and Jess Kerr (4-0-33-2) were outstanding with the ball for the Wellington Blaze.
Skipper Amelia Kerr was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational all-round impact, scoring a breath-taking century 106* (61 balls), her maiden in the T20 format. Her knock included 17 boundaries and a couple of maximums. She also delivered an impressive spell (3-0-17-0) with the ball for her side. As a result, the Wellington Blaze, playing at their home venue at the Basin Reserve, secured their 2nd consecutive victory of the ongoing season.
They also earned a bonus point for breaching the 150-run mark with the bat. The Blaze are at the top of the table with 9 points from a couple of games in the league stages of their campaign so far.
