India’s dominant eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the first T20I of their ongoing five-match bilateral series has sparked major shifts in the latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings.

With the series running from December 21 to 30, 2025, under skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership against Chamari Athapaththu’s Sri Lanka, Jemimah Rodrigues earned Player of the Match for her unbeaten 69 off 44 balls. This update highlights Deepti Sharma’s rise to the top of T20I bowlers and Laura Wolvaardt reclaiming the No. 1 ODI batting position, as teams gear up for the 10th ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, 2026.

T20I Rankings: Deepti and Rodrigues Lead India’s Charge

Bowling Rankings:

Deepti Sharma surged one spot to claim the No. 1 T20I bowling position for the first time in her career, overtaking Australia’s Annabel Sutherland with figures of 1/20 from four overs. She gained five rating points to reach 737, edging Sutherland by just one point after the Australian held the top spot since August. Teammate Arundhati Reddy climbed five places to 36th position.

Batting Rankings:

Jemimah Rodrigues rocketed five places to No. 9 among T20I batters, her match-winning 69* (44 balls) propelling her into the top 10 alongside Smriti Mandhana (3rd) and Shafali Verma (10th). Sri Lanka’s young opening batter, Vishmi Gunaratne (39 off 43 balls), was the top-scorer for her side in the previous game. As a result, she has climbed up 6 spots to the 64th position (397 points). South Africa’s Dane Van Niekerk climbed up 3 spots to the 80th position (333 points) alongside Sri Lanka’s Anushka Sanjeewani, who also climbed up one spot.

Scotland’s Ailsa Lister climbed up 3 spots to the 88th position (314 points) alongside Thailand’s Chanida Sutthiruang. UAE’s Samaira Dharnidharka earned a massive rise as she climbed up 164 spots to the 92nd position (303 points) alongside Thailand’s Nattaya Boochatham.

All-rounder Rankings:

India’s Arundhati Reddy earned a significant rise as she climbed up 14 spots to the 76th position (69 points) alongside Rachel Andrew from Vanuatu, climbing a couple of spots. UAE’s Samaira Dharnidharka climbed up 66 spots to equal the 79th position (67 points) alongside Ireland’s Arlene Kelly, Zimbabwe’s Precious Marange and Shamilia Connell.

ODI Rankings: Wolvaardt’s Centuries Reclaim Top Batting Honour

Batting Rankings:

Laura Wolvaardt (820 points) pipped Smriti Mandhana to reclaim No. 1, dropping the Indian to second after back-to-back centuries against Ireland. Wolvaardt amassed 255 runs at an average of 127.50, including 124 (helping post 375 in the second ODI) and 100* (chasing 206 in the third), earning Player of the Series and a new career-high rating. Sune Luus rose seven spots to 34th, while Ireland’s Gaby Lewis jumped four to 18th and Amy Hunter three to 28th.

South Africa’s Dane Van Niekerk has earned a massive rise as she has climbed up 24 spots to the 95th position (294 points).

Bowling Rankings:

Australia’s Alana King inched closer to the top spot as she climbed up one spot to the 2nd position (695 points). Ireland’s Arlene Kelly advanced five places to 27th position (490 points). South Africa’s Tumi Sekhukhune has climbed up 11 spots to the 67th position (345 points). Ireland’s Aimee Maguire has also climbed up 15 spots to the 81st position (291 points). South Africa’s Sune Luus also earned a massive rise as she climbed up 17 spots to equal the 87th position (276 points) alongside Papua New Guinea’s Pauke Siaka.

The West Indian skipper Hayley Matthews has inched closer to the top spot as she has climbed up one spot to the 2nd position (420 points). Sune Luus improved 11 spots to 22nd position (146 points) with contributions from both bat and ball against Ireland.

Her fellow teammate, who recently returned to international cricket, Dane Van Niekerk, has also earned a significant rise as she has climbed up 7 spots to the 72nd position (70 points) alongside Ritu Moni from Bangladesh. Tumi Sekhukune from South Africa has also climbed up 16 spots to the 79th position (64 points) alongside India’s Radha Yadav and the UAE’s Samaira Dharnidharka.
