Myanmar Women started their innings positively, with captain Theint Soe looking to set the tone early. She hit three boundaries in a quick 14 off 10 balls before getting out at 18 in the third over, caught by Ariani off Dara Paramitha. Zar Win then stepped in to stabilise the innings and became Myanmar’s top scorer with a mature 20 off 23 balls. Brief support came from Zon Lin, who added 4 runs, and May San, who struggled for momentum and managed just 1 run.

Indonesia’s bowlers tightened their grip during the middle overs, preventing Myanmar from forming any significant partnerships. Sang Maypriani was particularly impressive, giving away only 7 runs in her four overs while taking two crucial wickets. Ni Ariani was equally effective with figures of 2 for 15, and Ni Wayan Sariani kept things tight with 1 for 4. Ni Luh Dewi also made a notable contribution, claiming 2 for 13 and putting the pressure on Myanmar’s batters.

As wickets fell, Myanmar’s score plummeted from 30 for 4 to 52 for 8, with Thae Thae Aung and Lin Lin Tun both being dismissed for ducks. Htet Aung tried to steady the ship but could only manage 11 runs off 27 balls due to a lack of rotation. The tail offered little resistance, culminating in Pan Ei Phyu’s run out, leaving Shwe Yee Win stranded on 0. Myanmar was bowled out for just 61 in 19.2 overs, a testament to Indonesia’s disciplined bowling display.

Chasing a modest target of 62, Indonesia started well but faced a couple of early setbacks. Maria Corazon made a quick 8 off 6 balls before being run out, and Rahmawati Pangestuti struggled and was out for only 2. While Myanmar’s bowlers kept up the pressure, Shwe Yee Win and Zar Win each claimed two wickets.

The turning point for Indonesia came when captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini took charge, anchoring the innings with a steady 28 not out off 36 balls, hitting two boundaries along the way. She built a solid partnership with Ni Luh Dewi, who contributed 7 runs, and later received support from Emily Sirs, who added 6 before getting out. Although Desi Wulandari went for a duck, Indonesia secured the win.

As the finish line approached, Fatimah Albanjari joined her captain and ensured no further hiccups, remaining unbeaten on 4. Indonesia eventually reached 63 for 5 in just 14.4 overs, sealing the win comfortably. While Myanmar’s bowlers put up a commendable fight despite defending a low total, with Shwe Yee Win and Zar Win both taking 2 for 13, Indonesia’s disciplined approach and strategic execution shone through.

This victory not only secured third place in the SEA Games competition but also highlighted Indonesia’s progress in regional cricket. On the other hand, Myanmar will take valuable lessons from the match as they continue to develop their young team.
