Full List: 120 Players to Feature in WPL Auction on December 15, 2024 in Bengaluru

A month after the retentions, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has revealed the much-anticipated players’ list for the 2025 WPL Auction. The list features 9 capped Indians, 21 capped overseas players, 82 uncapped Indians, and 8 uncapped overseas players, totaling 120.

The WPL has announced that the 2025 WPL Auction will take place at 3:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) on December 15, 2024, in Bengaluru. Out of the 120 players who have registered for the auction, only 19 could secure spots, including 5 overseas players. Australia leads the overseas representation with 12 players, followed closely by England with 8.

At the mini-auction, Mumbai Indians (INR 2.65 Cr), Delhi Capitals (INR 2.50 Cr), Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 3.25 Cr), and Gujarat Giants each have four slots to fill, while UP Warriorz (INR 3.90 Cr) require only three players to finalize their roster of 18.

From keeper-batter Nandini Kashyap, who recently amassed 332 runs in just 5 outings during a T20 competition, to emerging all-rounder Raghvi Bist, who is steadily making her mark, the list of 82 uncapped Indian players is a mix of promising and seasoned talents. Among them are all-rounders Humairaa Kaazi and Fatima Jaffer, both former Mumbai Indians players, and the exceptional teen talent, keeper-batter G Kamalini.

The overseas bracket features celebrated international talents, including power-hitters Lizelle Lee, Laura Harris, and Deandra Dottin. The list also includes all-rounders Heather Knight, Danielle Gibson, Heather Graham, Nadine de Klerk, Orla Prendergast, and Rosemary Mair, along with pacers Lauren Bell, Lauren Cheatle, and Kim Garth, and spinners Alana King, Sarah Glenn and Amanda-Jade Wellington.

Notably, Scotland’s keeper-batter Sarah Bryce, along with the United Arab Emirates’ duo of keeper-batter Theertha Satish and talented pacer Samaira Dharnidharka, are the only three players from associate nations who have signed up for the auction. The WPL also has a provision for a fifth overseas player in an XI, provided they are from an associate nation.

Among the 29 overseas cricketers, including 3 from associate nations, are 8 uncapped talents in emerging pacer Milly Illingworth, all-rounders Charli Knott and Tess Flintoff, spinner Sam Bates, and the seasoned Laura Harris—all Australians—who have made a mark in the marquee Women’s Big Bash League.

Multiple stars from past seasons, including Kathryn Bryce and hat-trick hero Issy Wong, among others, as well as seasoned Indian players like Priya Punia and Veda Krishnamurthy, are notable misses from the list of players set to go under the hammer on December 15.
