Australian skipper, Alyssa Healy misses the three-match ODI series due to a knee injury which has led to Georgia Voll being included in Australia’s 13-player squad ahead of the three-match ODI series which is set to commence from December 5.

The journey hasn’t been easy for the 21-year-old youngster who has put in some eye-catching performances with the bat. Voll was part of the Australia A side for the matches against England ‘A’ during the women’s Ashes series in 2022.

Representing the Queensland Fire in the 2023/24 season, she displayed remarkable form in the Women’s National Cricket league. The top-order batter scored 459 runs in 13 matches at an average of 41 and was the leading run-scorer for Queensland Fire, who finished as runners-up that season.

It was in 2020, that Voll made her debut for Queensland and the following season she went on to make her WBBL debut with the Brisbane Heat, before moving to the Sydney Thunder this season. In her maiden season representing the Sydney Thunder, she has showcased brilliance with 310 runs so far in 10 matches which also includes an unbeaten 97 off 56 against the Perth Scorchers, earning the player of the match for her stellar performance with the bat.

The young opener would look to make an impact at the top order for Australia during the three-match ODI series against India getting her first taste of international cricket which starts with a formidable side in India.

In the absence of Australia’s regular skipper Alyssa Healy, Tahlia Mcgrath will lead the Australian side against India for three ODIs which are set to commence on December 5.

First ODI – December 5: Allan Border Field, Brisbane, 3:20 PM

Second ODI – December 8: Allan Border Field, Brisbane, 10:45 AM

Third ODI – December 11: WACA Ground, Perth, 3:30 PM
