The England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) revamped women’s domestic season will feature the inaugural Women’s T20 Blast, running from the 30th of May to the 27th of July 2025, following the T20 County Cup Finals Day on May 26. The fixtures reveal that all 18 first-class counties will host at least one double-header featuring both women’s and men’s Blast matches next season.
The 2025 season marks the first time all women’s and men’s county teams will compete side by side in the Blast. The eight fully professional Tier 1 teams—Durham, Essex, Hampshire (The Blaze), Lancashire, Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Surrey, and Warwickshire (Bears)—will participate in the Women’s T20 Blast competition, while the remaining 10 teams will compete in Women’s T20 Blast League 2.
The Women’s T20 Blast kicks off with the Blast-Off weekend from May 29 to June 1, featuring 10 double-headers and all eight women’s counties in action. The group stage wraps up with the Friday Finale on July 18, showcasing eight women’s matches as teams compete for the three Finals Day spots. The inaugural Women’s T20 Blast concludes with Finals Day at the Kia Oval on Sunday, July 27.
The Women’s T20 Blast will feature the eight Tier 1 teams competing in a double round-robin format, playing 14 group-stage matches (home and away). The top three teams will advance to Finals Day.
They will be joined by teams from Women’s T20 Blast League 2, where 10 counties are split into two groups of five. Each county will play eight group-stage matches, with the top two from each group qualifying for Finals Day.
North Group: Derbyshire Falcons, Leicestershire Foxes, Northamptonshire Steelbacks, Worcestershire Rapids, Yorkshire
South Group: Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Kent, Middlesex, Sussex Sharks
