Players to watch out:

Smriti Mandhana

The 28-year-old opening batter, from 36 WBBL innings, has amassed 784 runs at an average of 24.50, a strike rate of 130.01, and registered the highest score of 114*. Smriti returns to the WBBL for the first time since the 2021/22 season, when she scored 377 runs from 13 outings. Leading up to this campaign, three games apart, she has notched up scores of 50 and 100, and given this recent success, she can be trusted to lead the scoring.

Megan Schutt

The 31-year-old pacer, from 131 WBBL innings, has scalped 142 wickets at an average of 20.33, an economy rate of 5.89, and registered the best of 6/19, while also being handy with the bat. Megan was outstanding in a recent campaign, scalping 8 wickets from 5 outings, and carrying the momentum into this competition, she has returned figures of 2/27, 2/28, 1/40, and 1/29. She can be counted on for breakthroughs.

Deandra Dottin

The 33-year-old all-rounder in the WBBL, from 47 innings, has accumulated 868 runs at a strike rate of 109.04, and from 49 outings, has taken 33 wickets at an economy rate of 7.11, registering bests of 68 and 2/13. Deandra has been in notable form of late, and in this campaign, she has managed scores of 15, 1, 6*, 20, and 40, alongside bowling figures of 0/16, 1/27, 0/28, 0/33, and 1/23. It is hoped she steps up with improved efforts.

Sarah Coyte

The 33-year-old pacer, from 120 WBBL outings, has claimed 117 wickets at an economy rate of 6.97, registering the best of 3/9, while also chipping in with 555 runs from 68 innings. Sarah claimed an impressive 13 wickets from 14 outings last season but has had a quiet campaign so far, claiming only one wicket from 5 outings while proving expensive. She should be backed to find her rhythm and lead the wickets tally.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at Karen Rolton Oval provide a somewhat neutral playing field, as the conditions favor both batters and bowlers. Pacers, in particular, benefit from the conditions, and a score in the 150s can be deemed competitive on this wicket.

Weather:

Showers on the radar could delay proceedings, but a complete game is expected as the weather clears. The temperature is expected to hover around 23°C, with moderate winds and humidity at 38%.
