Harmanpreet Kaur leaves behind Rohit Sharma and M S Dhoni in 100th T20I match race

On Friday, Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian to represent the country in 100 Twenty20 internationals. No male or female cricketer had ever played 100 T20Is for India and Harman became the first person of the country to achieve this feat on the 6th T20I played between India and South Africa.

Harman, who is also the captain of India in the shortest format of the game, received a special cap to honor this remarkable achievement. Coach W.V. Raman presented the cap to Harman which had the number 100 written on it. The team then also posed for a group photograph.

Harman thus overtakes the likes of Rohit Sharma and M S Dhoni in playing the number of matches for India in T20Is. She recently had also surpassed 2000 runs in T20Is, making her the 2nd Indian woman after Mithali Raj to do so.

Harmanpreet Kaur is crucial for the middle order of Team India where she plays her natural shots and more often than not, possesses the ability to take the game away from the opposition. She has made herself a household name in the country and has been an integral part of the success of India Women’s cricket team.

We congratulate Harmanpreet Kaur on this remarkable achievement and hope that she continues to play those crucial knocks for her team.
