Danielle Wyatt-Hodge completes 5000 International runs for England

The veteran 33-year-old opening batter hailing from Trent, England, made her international debut on 1st March 2010, in an ODI against India. In the format, she has scored 1, 907 runs at a strike rate of 88.12 and an average of 23.25 in 95 innings. Her tally of runs includes five half-centuries and a couple of centuries for her side so far.

Her best performance with the bat for her side came on 31st March 2022 against South Africa at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, when she scored a sensational century (129 off 125 balls). She was also awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant performance of 129 in the 2nd semi-final of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.

Danni made her T20I debut on 4th March 2010 against India at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. She has scored over 2,979 runs at an impressive strike rate of 127.85 and a decent average of 22.91 in 143 innings. Her tally of runs includes 16 half-centuries and a couple of centuries. Her best performance with the bat for her side in the format came on 25th March 2018 against India at the Brabourne Stadium, when she notched up 124 runs at a strike rate of 193.75.

She made her debut in the red-ball format on 22nd June 2023 against Australia, and since in 4 innings has accumulated 129 runs. Her tally of runs includes a fifty, with her highest score of 54.

She has now completed 5,000 runs across formats at the international level, becoming just the 7th English women’s player to the feat. She is having a sensational run in the ongoing 9th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the United Arab Emirates.

Danni is currently the leading run-scorer for her side and the 4th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 135 runs at a strike rate of 123.85 and a sensational average of 67.50 in three innings. Her tally of runs includes one unbeaten half-century (51* off 26 balls) in their previous game against Scotland.

She completed 5,000 runs at the international level on the 5th ball of the first over bowled by Chinelle Henry. England were up against the West Indies in the final league game of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
