Selina Solman, serving as the current captain of the Vanuatu women’s cricket team, holds the distinction of being the first female cricketer from Vanuatu to compete in grade cricket in Australia. Additionally, she showcased her skills on the international stage as part of the East Asia-Pacific team in the Australian Country Cricket Championships, earning recognition from the International Cricket Council as a ‘crucial player for the team’.
In April 2019, Solman was entrusted with the captaincy of Vanuatu’s squad for the 2019 ICC Women’s Qualifier EAP tournament, hosted in her home country. Her Women’s Twenty20 International debut came against Papua New Guinea during this tournament on 6 May 2019, marking a significant milestone in her career.
