Raghvi Bist, Tejal Hasabnis shine with the bat before Priya Mishra’s 5-fer give India A their first victory on Australia tour

Australia A led by skipper Tahlia McGrath clinched the series with a eight wicket victory in the 2nd One Day. Australia A skipper Tahlia McGrath won the toss and opted to field first.

After being inserted to bat first, India A got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of Shweta Sehrawat in the 2nd over of the innings. Maitlan Brown provided the first breakthrough for Australia A. Wicket-keeper batter Uma Chetry joined Kiran Navgire at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 43-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to lead some sort of a recovery for their side.

Charli Knott picked up the wicket of Kiran Navgire to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Uma Chetry soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Australia A. Raghvi Bist joined Tejal Hasabnis at the crease and the duo stitched a massive 104-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side close to the 150-run mark.

Kate Peterson picked up the wicket of Tejal Hasabnis to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. She completed her well-deserved half-century before getting dismissed. It was her 3rd consecutive half-century. Sajeevan Sajana joined Raghvi Bist at the crease and the duo stitched an 18-run partnership for the 5th wicket to take their side past the 150-run mark. Charli Knott came back and cleaned up Raghvi Bist to provide the 5th breakthrough for Australia A.

She also departed after scoring a well-deserved half-century. Skipper Minnu Mani joined Sajeevan Sajana at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 62-run partnership for the 6th wicket to take their side past the 220-run mark. Maitlan Brown returned and cleaned up Sajeevan Sajana to provide the 6th breakthrough for her side. India A eventually ended up with a total of 243/9 in their quota of 50 overs.

Raghvi Bist (53 off 64 balls), Tejal Hasabnis (50 off 66 balls), Sajeevan Sajana (40 off 49 balls), and skipper Minnu Mani (34 off 56 balls) were the top performers with the bat for India A. Maitlan Brown (6-0-39-3), Charli Knott (6-1-26-2), Nicola Hancock (8-1-35-2), and Kate Peterson (6-0-30-1) were the top performers with the ball for Australia A.

Chasing a target of 244, the Australia A openers Charli Knott and Maddy Darke got their side off to a steady start with a 19-run opening partnership. Soppadhandi Yashasri cleaned up Charli Knott to provide the first breakthrough for India A. Skipper Tahlia McGrath soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for India A. Tess Flintoff joined Maddy Darke at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 28-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to take their side close to the 50-run mark.

Maitlan Brown joined Tess Flintoff at the crease and the duo stitched a 13-run partnership for the 6th wicket. Skipper Minnu Mani cleaned up Maitlan Brown to provide the 6th breakthrough for India A.

Australia A were eventually bundled out for 72 runs with 167 balls to spare. Maddy Darke (22 off 34 balls), Tess Flintoff (20 off 44 balls), and Charli Knott (11 off 12 balls), were the top performers with the bat for Australia A. Priya Mishra (5-2-14-5), Meghna Singh (5-1-12-1), Saika Ishaque (4-0-13-1), and skipper Minnu Mani (2.1-0-4-2) were the top performers with the ball for India A. All the Indian bowlers were amongst the wickets.
