Australia ‘A’ secured the 3-match One-Day series against India ‘A’ with a commanding 8-wicket victory in the second One-Dayer. This win also extends Australia’s dominance in this ongoing multi-format bilateral series, following a clean sweep in the 3-match Twenty20 (T20) series.

Winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl first and made early breakthroughs. Despite this, Tejal Hasabnis and Raghvi Bist mounted a strong recovery with a 124-run partnership. However, after Tejal was dismissed for 63 and Raghvi was run out for 70, India ‘A’ suffered a collapse, losing 6 wickets for 42 runs, and were all out for 218. Maitlan Brown, Nicola Hancock, and Charli Knott each took two wickets. In response, Australia’s openers Katie Mack (68) and Maddy Darke formed a 131-run partnership. Though Knott was dismissed early for 9, Darke remained unbeaten on 106, supported by skipper Tahlia McGrath’s 32*, leading Australia to a comfortable win. Sayali Satghare and Tanuja Kanwar each took a wicket for India.

1) Maddy Darke (Australia A):

The 23-year-old opener built on her 27 from the series opener with a mature, unbeaten 106 off 115 balls, including 7 boundaries. In Australia’s chase of 218, Maddy anchored the innings, forming a solid 131-run opening partnership with Katie Mack (68), followed by a 38-run stand with Charli Knott, and finally an unbeaten 52-run partnership with skipper Tahlia McGrath (32*), guiding Australia to an 8-wicket victory in 40.2 overs.

2) Raghvi Bist (India A):

The 19-year-old middle-order batter continued her impressive form from the first One-Dayer, where she scored a solid 82, building on an extraordinary domestic season. In the second One-Dayer, she top-scored again with 70 off 93 balls, including 4 fours and a six. Coming in at 52/3, Raghvi played a crucial role, forming a 124-run partnership with Tejal Hasabnis before being run out on 70, helping India ‘A’ post a competitive total of 218.

3) Tayla Vlaeminck (Australia A):

The 25-year-old pacer had a rough start to the series but bounced back with economical figures of 1/6 in 4 overs during the second T20. Although Tayla didn’t feature in the 3rd T20 and the first One-Dayer, she continued her effective and economical form in the second, conceding just 12 runs off her 6 overs and bagging the key wicket of Priya Punia. Her opening burst set the tone for Australia, playing a crucial role in restricting India ‘A’ to an easy total of 218.

4) Tejal Hasabnis (India A):

The 27-year-old middle-order batter made an immediate impact on the tour, impressing with a composed 53 off 67 balls in the One-Day opener. In the second One-Dayer, Tejal walked in under pressure at 26/2 and once again delivered when her team needed it most. She played a pivotal knock of 63 off 86 balls, including 4 boundaries. Her crucial 124-run partnership with Raghvi Bist steadied the innings and bailed the team out of early trouble, setting up a fighting chance.
