Watch Highlights: Alice Capsey leads Oval Invincibles to victory over Welsh Fire

In the ongoing fourth edition of the Women’s Hundred on 28th July, the Welsh Fire took on the Oval Invincibles in the sixth match of the tournament. The Oval Invincibles registered a comfortable 6-wicket victory over the Welsh Fire.

Alice Capsey 59 (Oval Invincibles)

Alice Capsey scored a match-winning 59 against the Welsh Fire. She came into bat at number three when the Oval Invincibles lost their first wicket on the second ball of the match. She was involved in a 48-run stand for the second wicket with Paige Scholfield. Alice Capsey scored 59 off 48 balls, guiding her team to a convincing win over Welsh Fire. She smashed seven boundaries throughout her innings. For her performance, Capsey received the Player of the Match award.

Marizanne Kapp 1/19 & 26* (Oval Invincibles)

The Proteas all-rounder delivered a strong performance with both bat and ball for the Oval Invincibles. Initially, with the ball, Marizanne took a wicket, that of Welsh Fire skipper Tammy Beaumont, marking the first breakthrough for the Oval Invincibles. Later, with the bat, she scored an unbeaten 26 off 19 balls, smashing three boundaries in the course of her innings.

George Davis 3/33 (Welsh Fire)

George Davis continued her form with the ball in the Women’s Hundred, after grabbing two wickets in the first match against the Manchester Originals. Though in a losing cause this time around, Davis claimed three wickets against the Invincibles. Her first wicket was that of Paige Scholfield on 11(11), followed by Alice Capsey for 59 and later, she dismissed Laura Harris, finishing with figures of 3 for 33.
