English Cricketer Amy Jones announces her engagement with Australian Cricketer Piepa Cleary

English wicket-keeper batter Amy Jones, who is all set to feature in the upcoming ‘The Hundred,’ has announced her engagement with long-time partner Piepa Cleary. Jones shared the news on Instagram with a picture and the caption, “Cheers & Forever.”

England cricketer Amy Jones has been a vital part of the English set-up and is known for her finishing abilities with the bat lower down the order. The wicket-keeper batter recently reached the milestone of 1500 T20I runs, becoming the seventh English batter to do so. She also completed 100 T20 matches in the series against Pakistan, earlier this summer.

Jones was recently part of England’s women’s side that whitewashed the White Ferns in both the ODI and T20I series, 3-0 and 5-0 respectively. The right-handed batter has played over six Tests, 91 ODIs, and 107 T20Is for her national side. Amy Jones will next feature in the fourth edition of ‘The Hundred’ for the Birmingham Phoenix.

Piepa Cleary, the Australian pacer, plays for Western Australia in domestic cricket. She was named in Australia’s extended squad for the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup. In the 2018-19 season, she was part of the Perth Scorchers squad. Since then, she has remained with the side in the Big Bash League. Although Cleary is yet to represent the Australian women’s team, she has had exposure to franchise leagues, having played for Welsh Fire in ‘The Hundred’ tournament.

Both Amy Jones and Piepa Cleary have played together for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League and also for Western Australia in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL).

The duo received an outpouring of well-wishes from English top-order batters Dani Wyatt and Maia Bouchier, English pacer Kate Cross, Tammy Beaumont, Australian opener Beth Mooney, Eve Jones, and many more.
