Captain Katie McGill on the upcoming series said, “Leading the Scotland team, like most of my cricket career, is not an opportunity I expected to have but I’m excited and proud to be given this chance and to have the backing of our coaches in a leadership role.

“The squad has a brilliant mix of supportive senior players and girls coming in off the back of fantastic performances in the U19s. It will be a lot of fun bringing that all together, especially on home soil.

“With this series also forming the first part of our build-up to the WCQ, being at the helm is an incredible opportunity to be a part of setting the tone for how we want to approach our cricket throughout the qualifiers and the Ireland series. We saw the U19s dominate with positive, brave and exciting cricket and that is a principle at our core throughout the women’s setup. I can’t wait for us to take the game on.

“Being at the Grange for both the Fairbreak and Ireland series is huge for us. To be playing on high-quality pitches, at venues we know spectators have great experiences at is vital for growing the women’s game and showcasing the skills the squad have at their best.
