Charlie Dean, Heather Knight, and Lizelle Lee nominated for Player of the Month September Awards

Like every month, the International Cricket Council has announced the player of the month for September 2021. With a packed schedule of women’s cricket, it would have been a tough choice to choose the top three nominees which are chosen based on their performance from the first to the last date of a month. Those who have made themself a step closer to the award are England’s Charlie Dean, her captain Heather Knight, and South Africa’s Lizelle Lee.

Charlie Dean

England’s youngster Charlie Dean played just her second match for the country during their series against New Zealand and she finished as the leading wicket-taker for them with a total of 10 wickets at an economy rate of 4.64. These 20 years old took a four-wicket haul in the second match, a 3-wicket haul during the fourth, and one each in the first, third, and fifth match.

Heather Knight

While Charlie Dean shined with the bowl, Captain Heather Knight led the same series from the front with both bat and ball. Knight managed to score a total of 214 runs with a strike rate of 88.06 in the five ODIs which includes an 89 in the first match and 101 in the fourth. She also took three wickets with an economy rate of 4.66, all in the fifth ODI.

Lizelle Lee

The third nominee, South Africa’s Lizelle Lee currently leads the ICC Women’s ODI batting ranking which she acquired after a brilliant performance in her recent matches. In South Africa’s tour to the West Indies last month, Lee finished as the leading run-scorer with 248 runs and a strike rate of 72.09. Her runs include some unbelievable knocks of 91 not out, 18, 78 not out, and 61 in four matches she played.
