It was a low-scoring game with West Indies restricting South Africa to just 185 runs for 6 wickets in their 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bowl but failed to take the win. Mignon du Preez was the highest scorer for South Africa with an unbeaten 65 while West Indies captain Anisa Mohammed took two wickets followed by Selman, Alleyne, Matthews, and Fraser getting one each to their name. After facing half of the total overs of their batting, South Africa was 88 for 4 and it was Du Preez who was playing her first international match since March, who managed to save South Africa from there.

For West Indies, no one really dominated with the bat with the highest being Rashada Williams who scored 42 while others didn’t even reach 25 runs. SA with the bowl was exceptionally well with the captain Dane van Niekerk herself leading the bowling attack with the 3-wickets haul. Klaas got 2 wickets and bowled 2 maidens as well and Ismail, Mlaba, and Klerk settled for 1 wicket each, restricting West Indies to 36 runs short with 150 onboard for 9 in their quota of 50 overs and thus, clinching another game.

For West Indies, it is a matter of great concern for not being able to reach even 200 in an ODI game since past 3 ODIs and with ICC World Cup Qualifiers inline this November, they really need to fight back up with a hope to not get whitewashed in this series against South Africa.
