The Dragons retain the Toyota Super 3s title despite two loses on the last day

Remained unbeaten throughout the tournament only to have a forgettable last day, the defending champions, The Dragons lifted the Toyota Super 3s Trophy for the second consecutive time.

The final day of Super 3 tournament was played at YMCA Cricket Club in Ireland where Dragons were up against The Typhoons who won the toss and elected to bat first. Typhoons’ opener, Leah Paul led her team to a competitive total of 132 for 6. In reply, Dragons lost their first wicket early and switched on the defensive mode as they needed 17runs to win from last 12balls with seven wickets in hands. But owing to real-tight death bowling by Typhoon bowlers, they were left three runs short in the end. The champions faced The Scorchers in the last match of the tournament and chasing a huge total of 190, finished at 146-7 in 20overs, losing the match by 33runs.

Despite losing both the matches of the day, Dragons were crowned the Super 3s title due to their top performances early in the season. With this win, The Dragons also became the first side to claim back-to-back titles.
