After suffering a 3-0 loss in the ODIs of the multi-format Ashes series, England Women aim to win the four-day encounter to keep the series alive. And on the other hand, Australian team will look extend their spectacular run to retain the Ashes cup.
Both the teams tested their preparations during their respective practice matches and were successful in registering huge wins against their opponents. English batters found their form back on the flat pitch in Swindon after their poor run in the ODI series and would like to carry forward the confidence gained into the real battle. On the other side, their Australian counterparts showed up another all-round team performance to get better of England Academy team.
Pacer Tayle Vlaeminck bowled a couple of fiery spells in the warm-up and have showed her strong contention for the selection in Aussies Playing XI. Also, left-arm spinner Sophie Molinuex grabbed the comeback opportunity with both hands to showcase her all-round abilities making it difficult for the team management to pick up the playing squad. Although the batting line-up is almost clear, it would be a tough task for the selectors to choose the right combination of all-rounders and the best bowling unit for the team.
The think-tank of both the teams will also have to consider the rain forecast for making their decisions.
