Match 4 - Malaysia Women vs Nepal Women - Sita Magar lead Nepal to a 34 run victory

The first day of the ICC Women’s Qualifier Asia 2019 watched Thailand, Malaysia and UAE winning against China, Kuwait and Hong Kong. The second day of the tournament saw Malaysia losing to Nepal after winning their first match with a great margin, Hong Kong and China fighting till the last ball and UAE winning their second match in a row and topping the table.

NEPAL WOMEN WIN THEIR VERY FIRST MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT!

Nepal started their first match of the tournament with winning the toss and electing to bat first. Opener Sita Magar was the top scorer for Nepal with 42 runs in 40 balls. Captain Rubina Chhetry also scored 33 runs in 25 balls which helped Nepal to set a target of 127 runs. Yusrina Yaakop started Malaysia women’s innings with a four but lost her wicket in the next over. Christina Baret was the top scorer for Malaysia with 21 runs. Karuna Bhandari and Sarita Magar took 2 wickets each and restricted Malaysia to 92 runs in 20 overs and won their first match by 34 runs. Malaysia was at the first spot of the points table after Day 1. Sita Magar won Player of the Match award for her 42 runs and 1 wicket.
