1st Innings Summary – Put into bat first, Perth Scorchers Captain Meg Lanning played a brilliant innings of 70 runs which included seven 4s and two 6s. But she didn’t get support from the other end. Although other batters kept calm and didn’t throw away their wicket but were not able to hit shots and as a result the team made a small total. So much so that out of team’s total (136), Lanning’s sole contribution was of 70 runs. For the bowling side, Haidee Birkett bowled excellent spell and never allowed batters to open up their arms.
2nd Innings Summary – Brisbane Heat openers played intelligent cricket and were in no hurry to reach the target, thus avoided making silly mistakes. With small yet valuable contributions from the top order and some poor bowling by Perth Scorchers’ bowlers, the team was able to chase down the target in 19.2 overs and register a comfortable win.
