The most awaited news for the women cricket fans is here. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct a 3 team Women’s T20 Challenge (a mini version of Women’s IPL) in UAE starting from 1st November to 10th November.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed to PTI on Sunday (August 2). The tournament, just like the IPL, will need the Government of India clearances.
“I can confirm to you that the women’s IPL is very much on and we do have a plan in place for the national team also,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.

This publication was the first report about such a possibility last week as the IPL Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel had confirmed that the topic will be up for discussion in the GC meeting, on Sunday.
It has been learned that the camp will be held in October and prior to the tournament, the Indian team will play against South Africa. Following the Women’s T20, the Indian team will take on the West Indies.
The Indian team hasn’t played cricket since March when it participated in the final of the T20 World Cup where the India side were runner-ups.
