  1. Meg Lanning was born on 25 March 1992.
  2. Meg belongs to a background with cricket enthusiasts.
  3. Her father Wayne was a keen cricketer.
  4. Meg started playing when she was 7 and loved every sport.
  5. She mainly played with boys while growing up.
  6. At 14, she became the first girl to represent the Association of Victorian Public Schools, in a boy’s representative team.
  7. She made her debut for the Victorian Spirit on 6 December 2008.
  8. Lanning made her T20 International debut on 30 December 2010 against New Zealand.
  9. She then made her One-Day International debut on 5 January 2011 against England.
  10. Meg hit her first century for Victoria on 29 October 2011, making 127 off 123 balls against the Queensland Fire.
  11. On 10 November 2012, Lanning broke the record for the highest individual score in the Women’s National Cricket League, smashing 175 from 142 balls against the ACT Meteors.
  12. In just her 2nd international game, she scored her maiden ODI century against England and became the country’s youngest ever centurion.
  13. She took the charge of ODI captain of the Australian cricket team in 2014.
  14. At the age of 20, she broke the record of the fastest 50 and fastest 100 in an ODI by Australian female cricketer.
  15. On 5 March 2017, against New Zealand she scored her 10th hundred in WODI, breaking the record of most centuries in WODI.
  16. She also went onto become the first female cricketer to score 10 centuries on Women’s ODI history.
  17. During the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup, She became the fastest to score 11 ODI centuries and has taken only 59 innings to complete the task.
  18. Though Lanning was not able to play in the Women’s Ashes due to surgery on her right
  19. She holds the record for the most career centuries in women’s One Day International.
  20. In March 2018, during Australia’s match against England in the 2017–18 India women’s Tri-Nation Series, Lanning became the first Australian, male or female, to score 2,000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals.
  21. Meg has also been awarded many prestigious awards like ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year: 2015, ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year: 2014 Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World: 2015.
  22. She also holds the Belinda Clark Award in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
  23. She has also won the Australian Women’s Health Sports Awards Leadership Legend recently.
