Sydney Thunder players Alex Blackwell and Rene Farrell were given a touching guard of honor as they left the field after their final WBBL match. As the players played their last game, everyone from both the sides joined them for the final time in a guard of honor

The pair shared an emotional hug before the whole ceremony and said goodbyes to everyone while shaking hands with everyone one by one.

Blackwell started playing for Australia from 2003 and has since played 251 games in all three formats in an international career of 15 years. Scoring more than 5,000 runs for her country, Blackwell is Australia’s precious asset. In 2010, Blackwell leads the side in the T-20 World cup to victory and grabbed the player of the match award in the semi-final against India.

Farrell has featured in 101 games for Australia since her debut in 2007 and has contributed like a swing star taking 114 wickets across all formats. The 32-year-old played in the 2013 one-day World Cup triumph, as well as the 2010 and 2014 World T20 wins. She has also taken 79 wickets in 66 WBBL games for Sydney Thunder.

These names are to be in the record books forever for their tremendous contributions and efforts in women’s cricket.
