Aliya Riaz and Fatima Sana win PCB Awards 2020

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) welcomed the new year on a positive note as the governing body announced the names of PCB award winners on its social media platforms on January 1. The honors were conferred upon the men cricketers as well as the women players. In this article, we will look at the women cricketers who won the coveted titles.

 

 

To begin with, all-rounder Aliya Riaz bagged the Women’s Cricketer of the Year. Aliya made her ODI and T20I debut against Australia in 2014. Since then, the 28-year all-rounder from Rawalpindi, who is a right-hand bat and a right-arm medium-pace bowler, has been a vital cog in the Pakistani line-up.

Next up, we have Fatima Sana, who won the award for the Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year. The 19-year-old from Karachi is an exciting talent to look forward to. She can bowl with the new ball and is known for her disciplined lines and lengths. Sana made her ODI and T20I debut for Pakistan in 2019 against South Africa and has so far featured in two ODIs and four T20Is.

According to a PCB statement, the nominees were finalized by an independent panel comprising highly respected and distinguished cricket personalities. The winners were chosen by an independent panel comprising highly respected and distinguished cricket personalities. In picking up the winner, the independent jury did not limit itself to just player performances but also took into account various other factors, such as the opponent, impact, value, and contribution of the players in the matches and/or during the period under consideration.
