South Africa and India locked horns in a highly anticipated clash at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

Smriti Mandhana (17) and Shafali Verma (31) provided a brisk start, taking India to 54/2 inside six overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur (24) and Deepti Sharma (29) got starts, but South Africa struck regularly to restrict India to 159/7.

Marizanne Kapp (2/27) and Shabnim Ismail (2/28) led a disciplined South African bowling effort.

In reply, South Africa lost Laura Wolvaardt and Annerie Dercksen early, but Kapp and Tazmin Brits (40) rebuilt the chase.

The pair guided South Africa to 122/3, before Shafali Verma and N Sree Charani's third scalp kept India in the hunt.

Kapp's unbeaten 81 off 45 and Chloe Tryon's 10* sealed a six-wicket win with five balls to spare.
