England team management calls up Kirstie Gordon for the one-off Ashes Test

England’s left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon has been called up for tomorrow’s Ashes test considering the nature of wicket likely to be used for the match as the ball is expected to turn. Although Gordon has represented England in T20Is only but proved vital for England Academy during the three-day practice match against Australia A by taking eight wickets combined in both the innings.

It is believed that both the teams are looking out for including spin all-rounder into the squad to utilize the pitch to the fullest. Katherine Brunt has recovered from her ankle injury and would be leading the English bowling attack comprising Anya Shrubsole, Kate Cross, Kirstie Gordon and Nat Sciver.

England’s captain Heather Knight said, “It’s obviously a very important match for us and we need to win it to stay in the series”. “We’re raring to go again to get back into the Ashes,” she added.
