Australia A Squad to accompany senior team to the women’s Ashes

Coming June, Meg Lanning led Southern Stars team will be travelling to the UK for the multi-format Ashes series and shall aim to retain the Ashes title on English soil this year. But this team is not travelling alone this time as they will be accompanied with an Australia A team made up of both current international hopefuls and up-coming young guns.

Australia’s coach Matthew Mott said that it is going to be fantastic opportunity for the young players to play in English conditions and that there is a real long-term view around this practice including the selection of players who have the potential to represent Australia in the coming years.

Also, this is going to offer a lot of flexibility to the Australian squad members outside the playing XI in case of any injury.
