Toss – Won by Melbourne Renegades Women and elected to bat first

1st Innings Summary – Electing to bat first after winning the toss proved to be disaster for Melbourne Renegades. None of the batters except one could face Sydney Sixers’ bowlers and seemed to have completely surrendered to the bowling attack. Maitlan Brown down the order played a brave innings of 33 runs before getting caught out on Dane van Niekerk’s bowl in the last over of the innings. Lauren Cheatle bowled only two overs but took two wickets by giving just six runs becoming the most successful bowler. Also, Ashleigh Gardner could not take any wicket but gave just five runs in two overs.

2nd Innings Summary – 111-run target was never a real challenge for Sydney Sixers’ batters. Wicketkeeper opener Alyssa Healy took the lead and made 70 runs in just 42 balls striking nine 4s and two 6s. Ashleigh Gardner kept the other end safe and playing shots whenever opportunity came. Molly Strano was the best bowler for Melbourne Renegades as she took three wickets in her four overs. But, the chase was comfortably completed in 14.1 overs and with seven wickets still in the hand.
