1^st Innings Summary – It is rightly said that a good opening partnership lays the foundation of a huge total. Put to bat first, Perth Scorchers openers Elyse Villani and captain Meg Lanning accepted the challenge so well that a 143-run huge partnership took place between the two. In the process, both the batters reached their half-centuries and hit sixteen 4s and three 6s collectively. It was only in 18^th over that Melbourne Renegades bowlers got success and Villani got caught by Lea Tahuhu. But the damage was already done as Nicole Bolton hit a four and a six in the last over to add on to the bowling team’s misery.

2^nd Innings Summary – Chasing a huge total, Melbourne Renegades’ batters played good cricket and hit shots regularly to keep the run rate in check. They were comfortably played at 80-1 after the end of ten overs but could not keep cool and lost wickets at crucial junctures. Even though, bowlers gave 13 extra runs including ten wides, Melbourne Renegades could not cash on the chances given and lost the game by a meagre margin in the end.
