FairBreak XI vs Sir Paul Getty XI at Wormsley Cricket Ground

It’s an organisation that aims to create equal opportunities for women in sports, business, media, arts and education.

FairBreak XI, a women’s cricket team consisting of eleven women from eleven different countries will play against Sir Paul Getty XI at Wormsley Cricket Ground Stokenchurch, Bukinghamshire, England to celebrate gender equality globally. The eleven countries are Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Oman, Rwanda, Singapore, USA, Vanuatu and West Indies. The FairBreak XI will be captained by New Zealand batswoman Suzie Bates. The team consists of Akanksha Kohli (India), Alex Blackwell (Australia), Diane Bimenyimana (Rwanda), Divya G K (Singapore), Divya Saxena (Canada), Mariko Hill (Hong Kong), Laxmi Yadav (India), Nadia Gruny (USA), Selina Solman (Vanuatu), Shamilia Conell (West Indies), Suzie Bates (New Zealand) and Vaishali Jesrani (Oman).

The teams will be coached and managed by Saba Nasim from UK and Khyati Gulani from India.

The inaugural match will be held on 30 May, 2018 at Wormsley cricket ground, one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in England will be hosting a women’s cricket match for the first time. The gender equality summit will be held in conjugation with the Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network and naming rights sponsor 23 Capital.

"Too often women's cricket is viewed as a cut-down version of men's cricket but it should be seen as a stand-alone product," said Shaun Martyn, founder of Fairbreak, an organization that works towards gender equality. "To have players from Rwanda, Oman and Vanuatu in the Fairbreak team is fantastic. Hopefully, this will be a revelation for women's cricket and how it's viewed."

By buying the tickets to the match not only you encourage gender equality in sports and other fields but also help end energy poverty. For every ticket purchased a SolarBuddy light will be put in the hands of a child living in darkness.

The foundation also supports the Sri Ayyappan School in Bangalore, they make available essential cricket equipment and visits through ambassadors and players providing coaching and mentoring advice.
